Introduction

The workshop facilitates a broad range of equipment for you to master: traditional machine and hand tools. The main studio is large and airy with individual desks and spaces.

Our specialist workshops Include:

Traditional hand tools, fibreglass layup and spray facilities, resin and plaster casting, sandblasting, acid etching, cold glass processing, warm glass forming, enamelling and electro-plating, cutting, routing, milling, turning, thermo-forming equipment, CNC routing centre and 3D printing.

Our Digital Studio has Wacom Cintiq workstations running the latest versions of industry-standard 3D design and visualisation software: Autodesk Fusion 360, SketchBook Pro, Solidworks and Adobe Creative Suite.  You can also access laser cutting equipment, ceramics, screen printing and photography in our Dynevor Centre for Art, Design & Media just two minute walk from ALEX.

Shared Access

Access to other areas of the Faculty is arranged through workshops, however, Swansea College of Art has a policy of allowing students shared access to all of our facilities.
