    • encourages undergraduate students to further their studies in education (Blas ar Ddysgu)
  • Work as a part of various teams within the university on different projects funded by Welsh Government in the field of education and psychology (EREiS, CAMAU, Well-being Framework)

Background

I am a Lecturer in Education in the Athrofa, UWTSD. Following completion of my first-class degree in BA Primary Education with QTS at UWTSD, I then furthered my studies at Cardiff University studying an MSc in Psychology. After graduating and gaining experience as a classroom teacher, I returned to work at the university as a Research Assistant in Education. I thoroughly enjoyed gaining a different perspective in the field of education and was promoted to Lecturer in September 2022.

Member Of

  • British Psychological Association
  • Education Workforce Council

Academic Interests

Recently I have worked with colleagues on the ‘CAMAU i’r Dyfodol’ project, a collaborative research project between UWTSD, the University of Glasgow and the Welsh Government. One of the project’s aims was to support curriculum development and understanding of progression in Successful Futures – an exciting project in which to partake in the current climate.

I have a keen interest in both the field of education as well as psychology and the relationship between these fascinating and important areas of study. As a result of this, I am currently working with colleagues on another Welsh Government funded project regarding the implementation of the Well-being Framework in schools in Wales.

Furthermore, I enjoy observing how schools are currently engaging with research themselves. I am a part of another Welsh Government funded project, working closely with Swansea University and Aberystwyth University, looking at how schools are presently engaging with enquiry and research with a view to enabling growth in that sphere.

Research Interests

  • My research interests lie in education and psychology.
