To close the University’s Summer events programme, join the celebrations on Saturday night, September 9th in Lloyd Thomas Hall for a special night in the company of Rhys Taylor and his popular band ‘50 Shêds o Lleucu Llwyd’.

During the evening, there will be an opportunity to hear live mash ups, combining some popular and traditional Welsh songs with world famous tunes, including Bryn Fôn and ABBA, Elin Fflur and Sinatra, and Edward H. Dafis and Tom Jones to name just a few, performed in new and different styles.

Rhys Taylor and the’50 Shêds o Lleucu Llwyd’ band are very well-known. They often perform on S4C, BBC Radio Cymru, in weddings, music festivals and special occasions across the country.

St David’s Festival Committee Chair Ann Bowen Morgan said:

“We on the Lampeter St David’s Festival committee are very pleased to collaborate with the University in organising and sponsoring the amazing ‘50 Shêds o Lleucu Llwyd’ event on 9th September this year. Rhys Taylor and his band are very talented, special musicians and we’ll certainly have a wonderful night – come to support and enjoy.”

Lampeter Campus Provost Gwilym Dyfri Jones added:

“The University is eagerly looking forward to staging the cabaret night in the Arts Centre in September. It will build on the success of the ‘A Night from the Musicals’ concert at the beginning of June and will be the culmination of the University’s summer events programme in Lampeter. It should be a night to remember!”
