Graduating students throw their mortarboards in the air in front of the Old Building, Carmarthen Campus.
Film and Media students and staff celebrate their graduation in 2023.

The Guardian ranks universities according to nine different measures: including how satisfied final-year students are with their courses, teaching and feedback, spending per student; the student/staff ratio; graduate career prospects; what grades applicants need to get a place; a value-added score that compares students’ entry qualifications with their final degree results.

The University was placed 1st in Wales in:

  • Education: 1st in Wales and 4th in the UK
  • Fashion & Textiles: 1st in Wales and 3rd in the UK
  • Film Production and Photography: 1st in Wales and 4th in the UK
  • Fine Art: 1st in Wales and 21st in the UK
  • Graphic Design: 1st in Wales and 11th in the UK
  • Mechanical Engineering: 1st in Wales and 11th in the UK

Professor Mirjam Plantinga, the University’s Pro Vice-Chancellor Academic Experience at the University said:

The University of Wales Trinity Saint David (UWTSD) is pleased that many of our disciplines have shown a solid performance in this year’s Guardian University League Table.  It shows the strength of our subjects across our campuses.  The excellent results for the University’s Art and Design provision, which includes Swansea College of Art and Coleg Sir Gâr, as well as for our Education programmes in Swansea and Carmarthen demonstrate the University’s longstanding reputation for these subjects.
