What you will learn

Although the University has offered the Postgraduate and MA in HRM for a significant period of time, the qualifications have been updated for September 2021 in line with new CIPD requirements.

Both the PG Diploma and MA offer students the opportunity to engage in discussion with fellow students from all over South Wales and from a variety of organisations on topics of strategic relevance to people management. Modules are facilitated by lecturers with substantial experience in the field, including qualified employment law solicitors. Each module has been designed to directly align with the CIPD Profession Map and so provides students will all the underpinning core knowledge and behaviours required to successfully lead and manage people practice in modern organisations.

The first two years of each programme (PG Diploma and MA) are the same. All students are required to complete 8 compulsory modules (part 1 of the MA). At the end of the two years, students have the opportunity of topping up their qualification to achieve the full MA, by completing a 15,000 word dissertation.

The qualification is suitable for:
•    Those aspiring to or already occupying a strategic people management role
•    Those who wish to gain a depth and breadth of knowledge to lead people practice and add value to their organisations
