University of Wales Trinity Saint David (UWTSD) hosted the 6th International Conference on Computing, Electronics and Communications Engineering (iCCECE 23), at the University’s IQ building in Swansea on 14–16 August.

The three-day conference, organised by the International Association for Educators and Researchers (IAER) drew together researchers and developers from academia and industry through keynote addresses, technical and poster sessions, workshops and tutorials.

A welcome address was given by conference chairs Dr Maaruf Ali and UWTSD Senior Lecturer and Associate Professor in Computing, Dr Carlene Campbell. Other speakers included UWTSD Professor Emeritus Andy Penaluna, Professor of Distributed Artificial Intelligence at King Saud University Heba Kurdi, and Professor Richard Morgan, Assistant Dean and Head of Innovation and Engagement at UWTSD.

The University was also delighted to welcome HM Lord-Lieutenant of West Glamorgan, Mrs Louise Fleet, Deputy Lieutenant Captain Brian Thorne, Alan Brayley, High Sheriff of West Glamorgan and Mr Paxton Hood-Williams, Deputy Lord Mayor of Swansea.

Dr Carlene Campbell said: “It was an honour to host the 3-day iCCECE 23 here at UWTSD. The conference covered many aspects of Computing, Electronics and Communications Engineering and was a huge success, with presenters sharing their expertise, experience and knowledge from all over the world, including North America, the Caribbean, Europe, Asia, as well as the UK.

“I want to express my gratitude to everyone who played a vital role in making this conference a success: presenters, audience, sponsors, and to the hardworking planning team who made so much effort behind the scenes. 

“I do hope that from this successful event we will be able to form collaborations between universities, industries and businesses to share key areas of expertise and work together as a team.

“Big thanks to all!”
