Each day of the conference will revolve around a specific theme, curated to explore various facets of the art and design landscape. The themes include:

  • Nostalgia: Lost Past or Lost Future
  • Immersive Imaginations
  • Understanding Heritage as a Symbol of the Future

By examining these topics through the lenses of art, design, and culture, the ‘Residuum’ conference seeks to foster meaningful collaborations and generate ground-breaking ideas that can shape the future of these fields.

The conference will take place at Alex Design Centre, which offers a stimulating environment for intellectual exploration and networking. To ensure accessibility to a global audience, the event will be streamed online, providing an inclusive opportunity for participation and knowledge dissemination.

Timi O’Neill, Programme Manager of the Professional Doctorate in Art and Design said: “Residuum is an exceptional platform that brings together scholars and practitioners to engage in creative dialogues, challenge existing paradigms, and explore new horizons within art and design practices.
