What was your favourite thing about Swansea campus?

The 24/7 computer room was relieving to have on campus as it was a useful room to do project and assignment work in. The motorsport workshop is a good place to hang out after class and the technicians are interesting people to talk to who always keep it real with you.

Why did you choose UWTSD?

UWTSD were really the only university to make an effort in marketing themselves to my sixth form within secondary school.

The MCR race team, as an extracurricular activity, was a large factor in why I chose to come to this institution.

What did you enjoy outside your studies?

The motorsport team is what I enjoy the most at UWTSD. I was able to gain the most amount of knowledge in first year from being a part of that team.

Outside of the university, I enjoyed the experience of living in a city as it was a much-needed change of pace compared to where my family currently live. On top of the city itself, the people I met after coming to university have been some of the most positively influential people to me and have changed my outlook on life. I didn’t think people like them existed before coming here.

What do you hope to do when you graduate?

I hope to work somewhere in the automotive or motorsport industry.

I have been contemplating doing a master’s degree but am unsure where to do it. I would like to do some travelling and would be open to working abroad. I look forward to the day when I can find a company that has goals I believe in and share so I can pledge my complete loyalty to them and dedicate 100% of my time to making money for myself and bringing success to the company I work for.

What was your favourite thing about your course?

My favourite aspect of the course was the group project I did in my second year, as it gave me the opportunity to lead and organize a group of my peers to complete a project that would allow us to thoroughly practise skills in computational fluid dynamics in order to better apply our conceptual theories of aerodynamics to the motorsport team’s race car.

Students work at night on a pair of racing cars in a parking lot; each car is sheltered under a pop-up black gazebo.

Would you recommend UWTSD and why?

I would recommend UWTSD for anyone who has an interest in motorsports as it is, without doubt, the best institution in the country for gaining practical experience in real world competitive environments through extracurricular activity.
