Tir Glas is an academic and hands-on community which aims to develop sustainable rural life and promote economic prosperity as well as displaying true environmental responsibility whilst protecting cultural heritage.

The spring programme of events will begin with a special evening on 29th January at 5.30 pm in the Arts Hall on Lampeter campus in the company of Simon Wright of Wright’s Emporium, Llanarthne and the renowned chef Nathan Davies. Nathan is a familiar face as the former chef at the Ynyshir restaurant and SY23 in Aberystwyth, and during the evening he will talk with Simon about his successful career, including winning a Michelin star.

Then on 21st February, there will be a screening of the film ‘Rooted: Growing a Local Food Ecosystem’ in the Old Hall. Food Leadership and Cook 24 will be the centre of attention in March, with an evening of discussion about Powerful Herbs with Sami from Roots closing the programme in April.

Hazel Thomas, Tir Glas Coordinator said:

“As the developments at Tir Glas have drawn support within the local community over the past months, it was important that we create a programme of events that would keep that momentum going. The spring events are being promoted at present with more to follow. In a period of uncertainty in the world it is so important that we keep an eye on our local area and include the community at every stage of the Tir Glas developments.”
