Swansea Y Fforwm library

What was your favourite thing about Swansea campus?

My favourite things were the library (Y Fforwm) because of the long opening times and its available facilities. Additionally, it came in handy with deadlines as the IQ building opposite was open 24/7…

Why did you choose UWTSD?

Not only was it a local university to me: at the time of my enrolment my course was ranked seventh in the UK and first in Wales showing it had very high standing and a good programme. I also had access to the facilities during my school years and found them to be extremely valuable.

What did you enjoy outside your studies?

The uni location was a great benefit. Swansea is a very student friendly city and also has great local places for student life, but also to just experience the location with things like a beach being a ten-minute walk away from the city centre.

What do you hope to do when you graduate?

Ideally, getting a job in my field of study. This seems like it won’t be an issue as there is a very high employability rate for students in their subjects after graduation here.

What was your favourite thing about your course?

My favourite thing about my course was my lectures and technicians. They are highly knowledgeable in their subject matter and getting to know and learn from them was a pleasure. Each one had a great and individual insight into the design world and having such competent, passionate and supportive people to guide you through what is probably the most important and memorable time of your life really makes a difference.

Would you recommend UWTSD and why?

100%. Class sizes aren’t massive, meaning you get a lot more contact time with your lecturers and in the available facilities like the print workshop. This is something that very few other universities can offer, making UWTSD a stand-out.
