Erin's BA Graphic Design Experience

Erin's work

What is your favourite thing about Swansea campus?

My favourite aspect of the UWTSD Swansea campus is its traditional printing facilities. These resources enabled me to experiment extensively with my work, enhancing my creative process and significantly expanding my skill set. This experience has been invaluable in diversifying my portfolio and honing my expertise in various design techniques.

Why did you choose UWTSD?

I selected UWTSD due to its proximity to my home and it’s reputation as one of the premier institutions for graphic design in Wales. The university’s distinguished program and strong emphasis on creative excellence made it an ideal choice for advancing my education and professional skills in this field.

What did you enjoy outside your studies?

Balancing part-time work with my degree left me with limited free time. However, when opportunities arose outside of university commitments, I greatly enjoyed spending time with friends and family.

What are you doing now, how did you get to where you are, and how has your course helped you in your career?

In my final year at university, I aspired to gain professional experience in graphic design by working for a company. Recently, I was offered and accepted an internship with Waters Creative. I attribute this achievement to the university and its design department for their close collaboration with industry partners, providing students with valuable job opportunities upon graduation.

What was your favourite thing about your course?

My favourite aspect of the course was the staff, who provided both support and encouragement to push my boundaries. The course was challenging, and the staff’s guidance was instrumental in developing my graphic design skills and confidence.
